This page is our summary of what Ovintiv publishes, in our own words. It is not Ovintiv’s requirement list and it can be out of date. PrequalReady is not affiliated with Ovintiv, ISNetworld or any other network or operator.
1. Which network Ovintiv uses
ISNetworld (ISN). Ovintiv’s Prospective supplier page says a supplier that provides on-site services must subscribe to ISNetworld and maintain an acceptable grade. Its Supplier Resources page says a PASS dashboard grade is the minimum requirement.
2. What the sources say contractors must do
- Have an Ovintiv sponsor. A sponsor submits the request and the business justification on your company’s behalf, and an Ovintiv manager who needs your services starts the onboarding. Filling in the supplier form does not oblige Ovintiv to award work.
- Meet the supplier conditions. Provide your corporate tax number, proof of insurance that meets Ovintiv’s contract requirements, and register in OpenInvoice. If you provide on-site services, also subscribe to ISNetworld and keep an acceptable grade.
- Keep a PASS grade. Ovintiv says PASS on the ISN dashboard is the minimum. It scores companies on a blend of weighted criteria that includes the questionnaire, ISN’s program reviews and evaluations. If your grade falls to FAIL, the Message Center in your ISN account has details.
- Written programs. Ovintiv gives no exemptions from written program requirements. If a program does not apply to you, document why and provide it on request; choosing not to provide a required program can affect your score.
- Orientation and training. In the US, Ovintiv’s General Safety Orientation for Service Providers is available through a third-party provider and is included in your ISNetworld subscription. In Canada, the Common Safety Orientation from Energy Safety Canada is required. Workers carry proof of completion to the worksite, and the orientation is retaken only when its content changes materially. A ground disturbance orientation is assigned through ISN, and your ISN administrator gives it to workers.
- US drug and alcohol testing. Ovintiv requires all service providers to use DISA as the third-party administrator for Ovintiv-specific drug testing.
- The cost. Ovintiv says it shares the cost of demonstrating safety prequalification with its subscribed suppliers, and that one ISN fee connects your company to an unlimited number of clients.
- Questions about the requirements. Ovintiv’s page sends questions about its ISNetworld requirements to ISN.
3. The yearly dates that apply
These dates apply to any contractor on ISNetworld, whichever hiring client asked for it. The ISNetworld renewal checklist explains each one and shows its source.
- Every year, on or before the anniversary of your ISN activation date: pay the annual fee to renew your ISNetworld subscription (ISN User Agreement).
- February 1, until April 30: post the OSHA 300A summary, if you must keep OSHA injury and illness records (OSHA 29 CFR 1904.32).
- March 2: submit the 300A to OSHA online, if your establishment is covered (OSHA 29 CFR 1904.41).
- Your own dates for this client: the expiry of your insurance certificate and of your workers’ orientation records, and a regular look at your grade in ISN.
4. Confirm with Ovintiv
Requirements change, and the pages we read show no date. Before you rely on any item here, confirm it with Ovintiv and in your own ISNetworld account, where each hiring client’s requirements are listed.
Other operators: Chord Energy, Devon Energy, Kinder Morgan, EQT, or all operator pages.

6. Keep it in one workspace
PrequalReady is a workspace that keeps each hiring client’s requirements, your documents and every expiry date in one place, and emails reminders before your dates. It does not log in to ISNetworld for you, and it does not judge whether your documents are acceptable. It is free during early access. Keeping many contractors qualified? See the consultant view.
Start with the free checklist: the items hiring clients most often ask for, with their sources and the yearly dates, and Ovintiv already filled in. No account; nothing is sent anywhere.
