This page is our summary of what Energy Transfer publishes, in our own words. It is not Energy Transfer’s requirement list and it can be out of date. PrequalReady is not affiliated with Energy Transfer, Veriforce or any other network or operator.
1. Which network Energy Transfer names
Veriforce, for orientation. Energy Transfer’s Employee and Contractor Safety document, linked from its home page, says the company has a comprehensive Contractor Safety Manual, updates it periodically and expects every contractor, employee and subcontractor to comply. The Contractor Environmental Health & Safety Manual (effective 08/01/18, revised 01/15/25) says all contractor and subcontractor personnel, including visitors accessing Energy Transfer property, complete its Online Contractor EHS Orientation, self-administered via Veriforce, or another orientation through the Industrial Safety Training Council (ISTC). The manual we read does not name ISNetworld or Avetta.
2. What the sources say contractors must do
- Orientation before work. Complete the online orientation through Veriforce, or the ISTC orientation, before starting a project or entering a facility. In established facilities, further site-specific orientation briefings are required.
- Retraining. The orientation runs on a 12-month period, and the manual says ISTC and Veriforce notify contractors when retraining is due.
- Plans and records. Contractors and subcontractors train on and document site-specific EHS and emergency response plans before starting work, and keep applicable training records at or near the work location for the life of the project.
- Competence and procedures. Each contractor confirms its personnel are competent, capable and certified when required, writes and applies EHS procedures and work plans, and uses standard risk assessment methods to find hazards.
- Audits. Contractors keep a program of frequent, documented inspections, reviews and audits by competent personnel, and keep the documents at the project location, ready for Energy Transfer representatives on request.
- Equipment and PPE. Contractors supply and require the right personal protective equipment, and keep their tools and equipment in safe condition.
- Who the manual covers. It applies to third-party contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, right-of-way agents and contract employees. It also has sections on workers’ compensation insurance coverage, incident reporting and investigation, and environmental requirements.
3. The yearly dates that apply
These dates apply to a contractor working for Energy Transfer. The ISNetworld renewal checklist explains the OSHA dates and shows their sources.
- Every 12 months: the Energy Transfer online EHS orientation (Veriforce) or ISTC orientation, for every person who works on or visits its property (Contractor EHS Manual, section 6.10).
- February 1, until April 30: post the OSHA 300A summary, if you must keep OSHA injury and illness records (OSHA 29 CFR 1904.32).
- March 2: submit the 300A to OSHA online, if your establishment is covered (OSHA 29 CFR 1904.41).
4. Confirm with Energy Transfer
Requirements change. Energy Transfer’s documents show the dates above, and its own page says it updates the manual periodically. Before you rely on any item here, confirm it with Energy Transfer and in the current manual.

6. Keep it in one workspace
PrequalReady is a workspace that keeps each hiring client’s requirements, your documents and every expiry date in one place, and emails reminders before your dates. It does not log in to ISNetworld, Avetta or Veriforce for you, and it does not judge whether your documents are acceptable. It is free during early access. Keeping many contractors qualified?
